I was able to convince Dave that we needed to get away last wkend; if not then, it could be the last wkend in Sept -- or wait until some time next year! The fact that I brought it up on Wed. caused him to ask if this was last min. planning. "No. If I'd waited until Fri., THAT would be last minute!"
Btwn the two of us, we had enough frequent flier miles for 2 tickets on Frontier. Long story short -- A wk ago Thurs., I was finally able to get our tickets to Portland, OR to leave on Fri. evening, a rental car, a free night (hotel points) & one pay night in Salem and then three nights at our favorite B&B in Yachats (yah-HOTS -- it's Indian -- feather, not dot). Our room had a walk-out door onto a porch then a short walk to the ocean! We LOVE the ocean!!! We LOVE Oregon!!! So much that we are praying about moving there in 4-5 years. We'll see what God does. That doesn't mean we came back rested. Our flight home landed @ 11:15 PM, so by the time we got to bed it was 1 AM. We both had to get up & get to work on Thurs. But, the trip was a time to get away -- which was much needed! And, the Lord allowed us to have some thoughtful, probing talks. AND, the Lord gave clear direction to Dave for some issues we have been talking & praying about for some time. Several times during our time in OR, Dave turned to me and thanked me for making him take the time away from work. We are already looking forward to going again -- not sure when, but we will go!
