On a whim ...

Last week, on a whim, I called a store in Olde Town Arvada where I had applied for a job in early November. It's one of three that is locally owned -- candle store (they make their own). Anyway, I called & the lady I interviewed with said the position wasn't filled; the owner decided to wait until after the holidays to make a decision. After reminding her who I am, she said that if I'm still available/interested in January, to give her a call.

Today, on a whim, I decided to stop by the store to say "hello" & let her know I am still available/interested. The lady there wasn't who I interviewed with! Being me, I introduced myself & gave a summary of why I had come in. She smiled & said, "Hi, I'm Laurie, the owner." Bingo!

We chatted a few minutes ~ the only "important" question she seemed to ask was, "Can you gift wrap?" Then she asked when I was available. I told her I could start right then, but she had her day all planned out. So, I start on Monday @ 10 AM!!!

All on a whim ... if you believe (as I do) that a whim is the hand of God.

  2. Yay! Now I get to come and visit from time to time. Then you'll get to show me nifty candles. :)
