Pressing on ...

Since there hasn't been a receptionist at our office for a few weeks, I've been filling in while resumes are reviewed & interviews held. It had been narrowed down to two who were scheduled to come in for a second interview on Friday. The second one never showed -- didn't even call! Yeah, she's not in the running any more! And, the one that did come -- the main person who would be working with her isn't really comfortable with the young woman's personality -- too calm. Don't actually understand how that's a problem, but it's not my decision.

Dave & I were talking about talking to the two people who are making the final decision & see if maybe I should just stay on until they find someone else. I could be paid hourly (currently not paid right now -- something about being an owner ... part of my responsibilities since my health plan is covered ...). Anyway, if I could stay & get paid, I would do it for a while. It sure would put Dave @ ease & I know the woman in the office would be very comfortable with me doing the work. And, if I do get paid, I can put it on bills! We'll see how it works out.

Last night, after work, Dave & I went to the Log Home & Timber Frame Show at the Merchandise Mart. It's not very big & there weren't many there -- maybe bec. it was Fri. night & they closed @ 7 PM. Anyway, we picked up LOTS of info on log & timber frame homes (two different things). Today, as part of our sabbath, I went thru the materials, cut out pictures, etc. & taped them into our Dream Book. We thought we wanted a home that would be about 3,000 sq. ft, but have decided that 2,000 sq. ft. will be plenty big. We love the open floor plan & the master bedroom on the main floor. The upstairs could have 2 bedrooms & a loft/office space. We'll build a separate outbuilding for garage and wood shop so Dave can design & build sets for our clients. It'll be 3-5 years -- that's what we're planning. Although, it's all in the Lord's hands so it could be sooner OR later. We'll just keep moving that direction until He shows us otherwise.

It was good to have a day of rest today. Dave & I spent the whole day together. What a blessing to have him home! And he didn't even check on email or his phone. Didn't even talk about work. He is learning to let go and relax. Now THAT is the blessing!
