The days just fly by! Some are filled with working for our company, IPG, others are spent caring for my mother-in-law, some are filled with creative things or cleaning or laundry. Sometimes Dave is home, but these days, he's mostly gone. At least we have work & he gets paid!
My sweet daughter(-in-love) has been helping me clean out over 18 yrs. of "stuff" from the garage & storage barn. I had our trash company drop off a large dumpster & it's nearly full! Joe & a friend pounded the old metal shed down, and Giles & Arthur took it apart & put it in the dumpster. Yeah, the dumpster is getting pretty full! The cleaning out part is gross -- lots of mouse poo. Ew-w-w-w! Some boxes & bags are even being opened -- they go right to the dumpster. Hopefully, we'll be done with the barn tomorrow & can move the garage/yard sale items into the barn on Wed. Then, it's on to Joe's room. I did the office by myself & it does look nice. I even got the filing done! Dave was home for a few days & liked -- even appreciated -- how it turned out.
We are working very hard to get out of debt. LOTS of debt. So, I canceled the bi-monthly cleaning service. That saves $160/month. My car is up for sale. We need $21,500 to pay off the loan. That will save us nearly $500/month in car payments as well as insurance & fuel -- probably a total of $600/month. That's significant! I have gotten 3 small credit cards paid off which is encouraging. Hopefully, I'll have another one paid off by the end of summer or at least early fall. I quit getting my nails done back in Sept. when we decided to really focus on getting out of debt. That's the one thing I really miss -- my artificial nails & getting them done every 2 wks. As soon as everything is paid off, I'll get them again!
My glasses broke yesterday. There's a fishing line that holds the lens in the frame @ the bottom & one came off. I have it glued right now. Rather than just getting new frames, I decided it would be wise to have my eyes checked. Yeah ... I needed a new prescription. So, even with both frames (regular & sun glasses) on sale and a 10% discount on the regular glasses, it all came to $615 -- and that doesn't include the exam! Now I'm praying they come in before I leave town next Wed. afternoon. I'll be gone 2 wks & doubt my glued glasses will last that long.
This past wkend I was a subcontractor for a client we've had for 10 years. I'm ready to be done with that stuff! We have a young man who will be at the event in PA starting the end of next week. It will be a working interview. I really hope he works out. That would give me more time to travel with Dave & schmooze with clients. I did that last week for the Pro Rodeo in Colorado Springs. It was actually kind of fun.
Before I know it, it'll be fall! Let's hear it for cooler weather!!
