It is flippin' hot these days! Near 100 on the thermometer today & expected to be at least that high the rest of this week. Fans & open windows move the hot air around. Not having air conditioning SUCKS!
Dave flew to Washington, DC today. He meets with clients this afternoon (done!), tomorrow & Friday. He'll fly home on Friday, arriving about 7:45 PM. Silly, but I miss him! He's only been gone 10 hours & I've sent him 4 or 5 emails already, ending with "miss you" -- and meaning it!
Today I did the math on taking a possible vacation to Oregon. Flights to Tacoma, WA are down ($89 ea. way/person!), car rental is do-able as is hotel & food. It's the fuel that would kill us -- over $4/gal. It would be over $4500 if we flew in to Tacoma, drove from there all the way to the southern end of Oregon (Brookings). Granted, we don't have to go that far, so that could save some money. We could also shorten our trip & only go for 5 days instead of 8-10. Just don't want to go into debt for it. It's really hard to justify the expense, except that Dave really needs a break -- really, really needs a break. And he always relaxes when we're at the Pacific Coast. Maybe it would be wiser to pick a spot, stay there & do day trips. I'll do the math on that option. Just discouraging to think we can't get away.
The good news is that our credit score has gone up! YEAH!!! We're paying down our debt, doing it on time, and killing off the credit cards. If we continue at the current pace -- not taking into consideration putting payments to paid off cards onto remaining cards -- we'll be out of debt (except for our mortgage) by Dec. 2013. Since we do put the payment from paid off cards onto remaining debt, it will be done before that. That's encouraging.
Time to switch laundry. Hate to run the dryer in this weather, but we don't have a line outside. My goal this week is to get to the bottom of the laundry room floor -- get it all done & put away. Big project! I'll let you know how I do!
