What to do ...

On Fri., I had a delightful day with Emily & Sharon. We chatted, ate, shopped and generally enjoyed each others' company at the Castle Rock Outlets. Both Emmy & Sharon go back to school tomorrow. It was our last get together before back to work.

Dave came home from DC Fri. evening. He didn't feel well when he left & still was feeling punk when I picked him up. I asked him to drive home from the airport -- I hadn't slept much on Thur. night bec. I'd had a temp. crown put in. My jaw was hurting from all the work/drilling on it.

The days -- and nights -- have been very hot. Even with the attic fan, portable fans and less clothing, it's still miserable to sleep. Since Dave wasn't feeling well, we took a rain check on breakfast with his folks. We both slept late -- I didn't get up until nearly noon! After a bite of lunch, I laid down on the couch -- and slept on & off for 3+ hours! The fabric on the couch doesn't breathe! It was HOT! And we still went to bed before 10 PM.

Dave is working today. I've gotten some cooking done -- fried hamburger with onion, made lime Jello, just took gingerbread out of the oven, boiled eggs. I'll figure out what to do with the hamburger -- two meals, probably. The Jello will be refreshing for supper (hamburger something or other) with the gingerbread for dessert. I'll make egg salad for sandwiches this week.

The laundry isn't all done, but it's very close. I finally figured out it's easier to put my laundry basket in my closet to put things away rather than walk back & forth btwn my bed & the closet. Only took 19 yrs. to figure that out! It's a good thing I'm not too slow-witted! This week I'll finish the laundry & work on the garage sale stuff.

Hope we'll be able to take a bit of vacation in Sept. If we can come up with about $3k, it should be do-able.
