Another Saturday

Not much got done today. We slept late -- got up about 8:00. Dave had to be at the shop so the trailer could be unloaded & then loaded for our trip.

Sharon called to say her dad is nearly gone. She, Giles & Emily will fly out on Wed. -- hopefully to say good-bye before he goes Home. Molly will be able to be there too; she hasn't left for sea yet, which is a blessing. Since we're not going to be home, someone else will have to take Giles & Emily to the airport. I wish there was something I could do -- other than pray, but I know that is important.

I dropped off an employment application at a bakery in Olde Town Arvada. We'll see if anything comes of it. After running a few errands, I went back to the shop to see if Dave wanted to bring me home so he could have the truck. He brought me home, but ended up staying home. He didn't have to work last night's job, but he did have to pick up the rig -- & got home about 2:30 this morning. He was going to go back to the office to get some work finished, but I talked him into staying home, going to bed early & doing it in the morning before we leave. That will enable me to finish laundry & get packed. We'll be ready to roll about noon. I have to get enough laundry done so we can unpack/repack when we get home bec. we'll be here less than 12 hours before heading to TX with the folks' household goods.

I'm looking forward to getting in the rig -- that's "our" time. We'll talk, listen to audio books, nap (not while driving, tho!). Dave said we have 15,000 miles to cover btwn now & Thanksgiving! I'm not working any of the jobs -- just going to help with the driving. I am so grateful that I can do that. If I get a part time job after we get home, I won't be able to go with him -- which will be very hard.

Almost time to go to bed -- pretty tired today, even tho not much was done.

  1. Hi Deb, I found your blog via a link in Giles's blog. Hope you and the family are well.

If the bakery you mentioned is the one I'm thinking of, that's one of my favorite bakeries in the world. Steep prices, to be sure, but the most delicious goodies.

That whole little stretch in Olde Town is home to some of my favorites, actually. The bakery is next to Primo Vino, my favorite wine shop, and then comes Ophelia's, one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Just thinking about it makes me miss Colorado.
